Overview of Basic Courses

In the basic course curriculum, offerings will include executive and beginning coursework, building into intermediate and advanced courses.

The basic courses of the Institute are unique in providing practical, interactive experiences in the skill set required for the development and delivery of a crop insurance program. Each training session will be designed to articulate with more advanced courses, creating a progressively expanding learning experience. Following are overviews of each of the anticipated basic courses:

Executive Level Course

This course material is targeted at high-ranking public officials and/or representatives from private sector insurance and reinsurance firms.

Beginning Level Course

The beginning coursework is targeted at mid-level public officials and/or private insurance/reinsurance representatives who will be responsible for the implementation of the risk management programs when they are put in place.

Intermediate Level Course

This course is targeted at technical level public officials and/or private sector insurance/reinsurance representatives who will be or are responsible for the implementation of the risk management programs and who have completed the Beginning Level Course.

Advanced Level Course

The Advanced Level Course builds on the Intermediate (technical) Level Course directed at government or private sector insurance representatives who want to move ahead with an agricultural insurance scheme and/or individuals currently engaged in schemes who want to refresh or upgrade their skills and knowledge.
